5 Minutes to a Healthy & Delicious Chocolate Parfait

Delicious and good for you treats don't have to be hard.

Perfect for a dessert or for a meal.
I often have my yummy parfait for breakfast or a night time snack.

All you need is your favorite yogurt, I prefer Yoplait Vanilla.
Then a Chocolate Fiber One Brownie Bar and a fun glass container.

Layering the ingredients in a fun glass will make your kids think they’re
eating dessert, not breakfast.  They’ll get a much-needed dose of calcium
and a healthy fiber boost to start off their day.

Spread half a of yogurt in the bottom of your container.
Crumble up your chocolate brownie.

Evenly spoon the remaining yogurt over your brownie.
Add a cherry or garnish of your choice.

Enjoy!
So easy and totally delicious.

A Little Blue and A Lot of Chocolate

I got the urge to change up my china hutch treasures and add a little blue.  I just love collecting all these little treasures.
I also added this adorable sundae set I found a few months ago.

I had to try out the little sundae bowls and chocolate sounded good.
With an extra helping of cherry vanilla frosting of course.

Passed the taste test, lol.

Decadent Dark Chocolate Brownies

Want to try something rich and oh-so good?
This brownie is made with dark cocoa powder for that rich chocolate taste that
will be the richest, fudge brownie you've ever tasted. You can decorate it with an assortment
of toppings.  I chose some simple dark chocolate frosting and green icing for
St. Patrick's Day but the options are endless.

Halloween Treats to Make with the Kids

Halloween is coming up quickly.  My kids and I have been exploring all kinds of fun recipes we can make together.  I found these from Very Best Baking.  We've made these for years but we keep having new kids in our home so it's new to somebody every year, lol.

Uhmm, maybe I should give that issue some thought, you think?

Graveyard Pie

Have fun with the kids creating this festive and spooky graveyard-inspired pie. A chocolate cookie crust is filled with a chocolatey pie mixture and topped with cookie crumb dirt, cookie headstones and creepy crawly gummies and bones.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups (about 32) finely ground chocolate sandwich cookie crumbs, divided
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 can (12 fl. oz.) NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 3/4 cups (11.5-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Milk Chocolate Morsels
  • 8 chocolate filled vanilla wafer cookies
  • Black and purple decorator writing gels
  • WONKA® SweeTARTS® Skulls n’ Bones*, gummy bugs or other assorted spooky Halloween candies

Directions

COMBINE 1 1/2 cups cookie crumbs and butter in 9-inch deep-dish pie plate. Press crumb mixture onto bottom and upsides of pie plate. Set aside remaining 1 1/2 cups crumbs for dirt topping.

WHISK together evaporated milk, egg yolks and cornstarch in medium saucepan. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is very hot and thickens slightly; do not boil. Remove from heat; stir in morsels until completely melted and mixture is smooth.

POUR into crust. Sprinkle with remaining 1 1/2 cups cookie crumbs. Press crumbs down gently. Refrigerate for 3 hours or until set.

DECORATE cookie tombstones as desired with writing gels. Insert tombstones around edge of pie. With spoon, mound cookie crumbs to form “fresh graves”. Decorate graves with candy to make the pie as spooky as you want it to be!

Cobweb Cupcakes

These cupcakes with "cobwebs" on the top make a perfect spooky treat for your favorite ghouls.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. (18.25 oz.) devil's food or yellow cake mix
  • 2 (2.1 oz. each) NESTLÉ BUTTERFINGER Candy Bar, chopped
  • 1 container (16 oz.) prepared vanilla frosting
  • 1 cup (6 oz.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
  • 1 small tube white decorator icing or gel
  • 1 pkg. (1.38 oz.) NESTLÉ GOOBERS Milk Chocolate-Covered Peanuts

Directions

PREPARE cake mix batter according to package directions; add chopped Butterfinger to batter. Bake according to directions for 24 cupcakes. Cool completely. Frost cupcakes.

PLACE morsels in small, heavy-duty plastic bag. Microwave on HIGH (100%) power for 45 seconds; knead. Microwave at additional 10- to 15-second intervals, kneading until smooth. Cut small corner from bag; squeeze to pipe concentric circles on top of frosting. Using wooden pick or tip of knife, pull tip through chocolate from center to last circle to create a cobweb effect.

MAKE 2 dots using decorator icing on each of 24 Goobers to resemble spider eyes. Place in center of each cobweb.

Have fun!

The Other Man in My Life

Welcome to Mommy Monday

Yeah, you read my title right.  Yeah, I'm married.

I've got another man in my life and I can't spend enough time with him.
I want to be with him every second.
When I'm away from him my heart aches.
 I've really got it bad.

I can't help myself.
Every time I see him I run to him and he hugs and kisses me.
He's just the most amazing person in the world.
When we say goodnight he cups my cheeks in both hands and smiles,
every time.  It's the most amazing feeling in the world.
My heart leaps with joy every single time he does that.

Then, when I go to bed I lay there and think about
how much fun we can have the next day.
I want to share all the good things in the world with him.
He is absolutely amazing!

I finally had to fess up to my husband and tell him.
He was not as devastated as I had thought he might be.
Actually he said he had already suspected that I had someone else that
I was spending all my time with.
He said he was okay with being in second place.
Wow, shocker huh?

Men aren't always as dumb as we give them credit for,
usually but not always.

Fortunately both of the men in my life know each other very well
and my husband really, really likes the new man in my life.
Said he totally understood why I felt the way I did since
the other man is such an awesome guy.
He's actually my husbands best bud.
Who knew, right?

Oh, well let me tell you more.

I probably should tell you up front that he doesn't have a job,
but that's okay, I don't mind supporting him for awhile.

He has the most beautiful brown eyes that will just melt your heart.
He has the most beautiful smile in the world, it just lights up my heart.

He does have fat feet, but hey, I can live with that.
He loves to sing to me and we dance all the time.
He does have two left feet and falls a lot when
he dances, but you know how it is, everybody
can't be a great dancer.

Let's see, oh yea, he loves to wear a hat.
He loves being in the pool, loves, loves, the water.
He pees in the pool sometimes but we all have accidents, right?

Let me think, oh yeah, he rides a big ole Harley.
He's not a very good driver, he ran into the fence last week.
 But he still loves it.
(no injuries, just hurt his pride a little)

He would crawl over your cold body for chocolate.
He's got a thing for chocolate.

He's also great on the piano.
In fact he's so good he can even play the keys with his feet.
Seriously, I'm not kidding!

He's kind of a momma's boy, but I can live with that.

He hates, hates to have his photo taken.
He will do anything not to have his picture taken.
I do want to show you pictures of him but I mostly just have shots of his back.
Like I said,he's really camera shy.

He's pretty short too, only about 2 foot tall.
But he's really mature for his age.
Honest, he is.

Well, I guess my secret is out now.  You'll probably tell everyone in town.
Since you know so much already I may as well show you his photos.
Here he is, meet Jacob, the man of my life.

Jacob's back with his favorite hat on.

Jacob's back as he rides his Harley.  Unfortunately he fell off, it happens.

Jacob's back as he has his Chocolate Death dessert on the floor.
Well actually, all over the floor.
Ummmm Mommy

Jacob's back as he plays me a song on the piano.  He's a great musician.

This one is very special.  These are the fat little hands that hold my cheeks
and say "mommie wuv" and my heart just melts.

Who knew, The man of my dreams is 2 foot tall and AMAZING.
My Jacob
and I did tell you he hates having his photo taken.
I wasn't kidding.
