The skies began to darken
and there was thunder in the distance.
Then the rains came and the day grew long and dreary.
The rain finally ceased but the water lingered.
We were standing in our yard surveying the landscape;
pools of muddy water were scattered.
pools of muddy water were scattered.
Walking around you couldn't help but to step in water.
Our youngest was up past his ankles and looking mildly unsure of his footing.
Wow, what are you to do when all you see is muddy water everywhere?

Wow, what are you to do when all you see is muddy water everywhere?
Well, you might as well make the most of it, right?
Sometimes you just gotta get a little dirty.
Sometimes you just gotta get a little dirty.
Feel the squish of cool mud between your toes.
Hey, mud baths are expensive :)
Play in the mud with your kids.
They are washable and will will have a blast!
The rain will make your flowers grow and the mud will help your fun grow.
Enjoy Life!

I like this post a lot! I puddle jump with my daughter.
ReplyDeleteI loved playing in the mud as a child. It's easy to forget those small, free pleasures as an adult. Your flowers are lovely.
ReplyDeleteIsn't playing in the rain fun? It's strange how we forget how much fun it can be as we become adults.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of rain and we have had much too much rain lately, but at least you all had fun when the rains stopped! :-)
ReplyDeleteYour little one reminds me of mine doing the very same thing when they were small. And, somewhere, way back when, I did the same thing. :) Such a fun time! This post was great! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDelete:) Some of my favorite memories are of the times I played in the rain/puddles with my brother! This is such a cute post!!
ReplyDeleteWe splashed in the rain and puddles today after day care pick up! It felt amazing :-)
ReplyDeleteYour post brought tears to my eyes Angel! How I miss my sons being little and splashing in puddles! Beautiful post! I am featuring it on my Facebook page and have pinned it to the You're Gonna Love It Tuesday board on Pinterest too :-)
ReplyDeleteIt never rains here so we have to make mud puddles with the hose. My daughter would do it every day if I let her. #wakeupwednesday
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Thanks you for sharing at Whatever Wednesday on Thank You Honey! Hope to see you again next week!
ReplyDeleteSometimes, you just have to get in the mud! The rain is off and on during the day nowadays since we're in hurricane season. Looks like the flowers were happy to get the rain, too. Happy weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post-- celebrates all that is important! :-) Thanks for linking up with "Try a New Recipe Tuesday." Hope you can join us again this week. http://our4kiddos.blogspot.com/2014/06/try-new-recipe-tuesday-june-24.html
ReplyDeleteAdorable and fun!
ReplyDelete"Kids will wash" - true - but if you live where there is red clay (like I do!) that stuff NEVER washes out.
ReplyDeleteLove the post though - and it looked like fun. :)
I love this post...lots of fun memories being made :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't played in mud in a long time! I'll have to remember this for my kids to do next time it rains, I'm sure they will have a blast!
