Featured Bloggers

With all the cool burlap ribbon in the stores these days and monogram letters of all kinds, I thought it would awesome to create a monogram rose burlap wreath for my front door.
Since I put my wreath on a glass storm door with a suction hook, it was hard to photograph without a reflection so I took the photograph on an indoor wall so you can better see how gorgeous it turned out.  When you attach it to a glass door it’s even more beautiful!

Farm Style Cutting Board Holder
Redo it yourself

Today I'm sharing another repurposed thrift shop find. Remember those vintage wooden paper plate holders? I snagged one! It reminds me of a breadboard, so I thought it could be converted into a cutting board holder. Something I need to keep my breadboards and cutting boards from slipping on the counter top. Lemon Poppy Seed Quinoa Flakes

A sweet, protein-packed zing for breakfast! Gluten-free and vegan lemon poppy seed quinoa flakes is a perfect warm porridge recipe that will leave you feeling bright and ready to start you day in a healthy way!

You know the drill by now. You wake up, it’s 3 am and you are into a full blown episode of the night sweat blues. Bolting upright in bed you immediately become irritated by the snores of your partner sleeping soundly.

Homemade Country-StyleButtermilk Biscuits  Taylor-Made Homestead

We don’t eat biscuits often but Rancher Man loves biscuits & gravy.  I prefer my biscuits with homemade jam thank you very much but who am I to judge??  I’ve struggled with biscuit recipes since, well, FOREVER – no matter what guaranteed recipe I try the biscuits always seem heavy & dry. But as is tradition I promised to make RancherMan whatever he wanted for his birthday breakfast recently and his request was (of course) homemade biscuits and gravy, along with a generous supply of thick-cut heavily peppered crispy bacon.  Back to my recipe I went with a sigh – he deserved

Using Essential Oils Safely with Children
Ben and Me

You may have noticed that I’m not completely loyal to one brand of essential oils. I’ve blogged about a few different brands (none of which are a part of an MLM). I even shared why I specifically choose oils that are not MLM brands.

Spring is one of my favorite seasons

Well, I'm finally ready to reveal my new 2016 Spring Bag! and this year I decided that I needed a new bag to celebrate it! I'd been toying with a pattern for a while, wanting it to be cute, but at the same time functional and really easy to make.

It is officially spring. Finally. I like typing it out as a reminder that it is true. Since I live in Northern Minnesota, it doesn’t actually feel like spring yet. The snow is melting fast, and I can see our lovely brown grass.  I’m ready to spend more time outside with my boys and soak in some sun. Until then, the reality is keeping us from outdoor activities. There isn’t enough snow to build a snowman or go sledding. But it is too muddy and wet outside to enjoy spring activities. That didn’t stopped us from enjoying our weekend! We spent our time with activities like hide-and-seek, a nature walk with Dad, art projects, building with construction toys and spending lots of time in the kitchen! My four year old and I made this delicious Hearty Apple Baked Oatmeal, an altered version of this baked oatmeal recipe I made earlier this year.

Rose Bakes

I love this time of year when I start to see fresh lemons and limes in the stores… and everything starts looking and smelling like spring!  Just this past weekend I also made a fresh Key Lime Pie… so delicious!!

You know all of those delicious fruit filled goodies you see on pinterest or in magazines. I thought it would be fun to share how I put fruit inside baked goodies. You know I am not a baker, but once in a while I like to make something sweet for my hubby and our family. I like putting fruit in recipes it’s a little surprise yummy in the middle. If you remember my cranberry loaf recipe, or my peaches and cream dessert you know I put fruit inside both of them.
If ever there have been two greater trends among Christian women than Bible journaling and adult coloring books in recent history, I cannot recall what they are. I’m guilty of jumping aboard both myself, and I love it. Now I can take my two latest passions and join them with these brand new journaling Bibles. Have you seen them?

Our Homeschool Library and Where To Find Cheap Books

I have to admit that this is one area I have a little bit of an obsession!   You see I cannot pass up a good book, especially when it is really cheap. Since there are so many good books out there we own a ton of books in our homeschool library.
