Ok it's official, I'm a Pinterest addict.
I can't help myself. There are so many ideas to choose from.
I loose hours when I should be sleeping browsing and pinning, and pinning, and pinning.
Well you get the point.
Then I find all these ideas of things I want to make, then
sadly, it turns into a "Pinterest Fail"
Not this time!
Momma rocked it out!
4th Birthday
Construction Party Theme
My Dirt Cake was a huge success and delicious.
I filled a Craftsman toolbox with Cupcakes.
You can definitely find anything on Amazon too.
I went searching for a black road and of course I found it.
For only $5 I purchased this premade road and ran it around the house.
Little boys like to hit stuff.
So this poor little Minion pinyotta was doomed to be pounded.
I stuffed our Minion with candy and Hot Wheels and let them at it.
He lived longer than I had expected him to but in the end he lost the battle.
I purchased plastic baseball bats at the Dollar Tree to keep the kids from
hurting each other.
The boys had a lot of energy especially after the chocolate cake.
Definitely had to give them something to throw things at.
I took a $3 tarp and cut shapes in it for a ball toss game.
I did have the good sense to by squishy balls from the Dollar Tree to
save the windows in my garden shed.
The following I take full credit for, sorry Pinterest.
I decided our little construction crew needed to do a little painting.
So I gave them a wall and some paint.
The rest is just messy history. But hopefully
someday they will let their children have the same experience.
The paint was washable and the excitement in their eyes was priceless.
Check out my future little Home Depot painting associates, lol.
Almost forgot to mention that the birthday boy stripped as the
party went on. Ended up in his Home Depot apron and undies.
Living the Dream.
Yes, it's all clean now. Back to it's normal self.
The kids are still talking about it.
Love it.
Epic!!!
What lucky little guys - that is an AMAZING party. I love the idea of cutting holes in a tarp to make a target for soft balls. That is simple and easy and almost anyone can do it, and it could be customized to fit with any theme...
ReplyDeleteAmazing party - you rocked it mom!!! Reminds me of the Indian-theme party my mom threw for my brother and me. She made a teepee in the back yard, the boys got homemade headbands with feathers, bows and arrows; for the girls she made cradleboards and I had a "buckskin" dress. I will never forget that party...I believe I was 6 and my brother was 4!! You created life-long memories with this party!!
ReplyDeleteLots of fun ideas - I'm sure the kids had a great time!
