Easy Dessert Recipe: Bacon S’mores

With three kids in our house, it’s pretty safe to say we have a busy life. I love putting a smile on my families face with a tasty dessert, but I don’t always have time to bake. I’m a sucker for an easy dessert recipe! Add in bacon and chocolate and I’m sold!  While my kids love sweets, I’m more a savory person. The bacon in this recipe adds a nice hint of saltiness while still providing the sweetness you would expect from s’mores.

Organize with Style: Favorites

Start off the year right with projects to get you organized and streamlined. I really love these products that I am showing above. Most of these are things that you can make yourself or if you have the budget, buy it to create a space that is organized, productive, and serene.

Easy Chicken Noodle Casserole Recipe

I love casseroles simply for the reason you basically have your whole meal in one dish and they are easy to make. For a hearty supper this easy Chicken Noodle Casserole recipe fits the bill! With chicken, vegetables and cheese it makes for a delicious and filling meal that the whole family will love!
Chicken Noodle Casserole and this easy Mexican Chicken with Doritos are my favorite casseroles and I believe my family would agree! If you are lucky enough to have leftovers, it warms up easily in the microwave for a quick lunch the next day too!

I originally got this to use for something at my sons upcoming birthday party (which I am still doing, you will just have to wait and see :)) but really the possibilities are endless with this so I decided to use it for this months challenge. Then I can modify, paint, and re decorate after I am done using it for my sons birthday to fit whatever need.
Here it is before just boring and black before giving it some life!

Strawberry Chocolate Chip Cookies

Have you recovered from the holidays yet? Me either. Any resolutions that include eating healthier this year? Me too. Well, I’m being as good as possible. I ‘ve been cutting down on sweets and eating more fruits/veges. But that doesn’t mean I can’t make plans for the next holiday, right? I think these Strawberry Chocolate Chip cookies would be perfect for Valentine’s Day! They’re so pretty in pink! And they’re super easy to make. Just 4 ingredients. Strawberry cake mix, oil, eggs and chocolate chips.

DIY Photo Blocks {Easy Craft Tutorial}

Better in Bulk
I love finding simple crafts that add a personal touch to my home. The problem is that I have a tendency towards complete unoriginality when it comes to crafting. Give me a pattern or a template, and I do just fine. Ask me to come up with an idea? Probably won’t happen.
Luckily, my friend, Lisa, has an abundance of amazing craft ideas…and she loves to share her talents. This week, she’s got a tutorial for adorable DIY photo blocks.

One of the most requested games of my two youngest girls is still our Snowman Dice Game. Whenever we get ready to play it we have to figure it out again. I cannot remember which part is for the 1 and which part is for the 3. If I get it wrong then my girls are frustrated for a minute until they decide it is ok to do it a little different this time.

Loaded Potato Soup

I don’t know about ya’ll, but I just LOVE creamy, hearty, soups.  I especially love them in the winter, when it’s dreary and cold.  That’s exactly what it’s been here in San Antonio for the past few days too.  OK, so cold to me (and fellow southerners) is anything under 40–and it was 34 as I wrote this post.  We even had some *gasp* freezing rain.  Sorry to my readers further up North where it truly gets cold, but seriously, I needed this soup to warm up my body and soul.

I teamed up with FutureDerm to create a cruelty free, sulfate free, paraben free, gluten free and VEGAN hair masque! You want to use this about 5 days before you dye so that your hair is in great shape. I also use this hair masque every other time I wash my hair.

Stuffed Bell Pepper Eggs Boats: Whole30 Recipe
This Whole 30 compliant recipe is delicious and could pass for comfort food any day. It also has a few key ingredients that help combat allergies and inflammation. This is one of my favorite Whole 30 dishes because it contains organic bacon (my recipe here), eggs, bell peppers, Ghee (my recipe here), sweet potatoes, and mushrooms. You can always switch the veggies and spices out to the ones that you prefer.

I have a quick and easy hair tutorial for you today! I’ve been loving this simple and easy boho braid for my days where I just don’t feel like washing my hair. As someone who is NOT good at braids, it’s easy enough to manage without it taking waaaay longer than it needs to (ya feel me?). I typically do this on wavy/curled hair to add to the “boho” look (as you can see below), but it can be done on straight hair as well. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for anyone with minimal time! Enjoy!

When I was pregnant 7+ years ago, I experienced all of the fears that first time mothers have. But the best piece of advice I received was “the baby will show you what to do”. I did not learn The Deuce’s gender prior to his birth. Hubby and I wanted to keep that a mystery. However I had no doubt that it would be a boy. I just felt it deep down. And I’ll never forget Hubby’s reaction when he laid eyes on him first: “You were right!

How to survive when the power goes out....

The (mis)Adventures of a "Born Again" Farm Girl

I am not a prepper or a survivalist, but that being said, I do have first hand personal experience on this topic. You see, last winter our area lost power for 10 days over Christmas. And it was COLD, below zero kind of weather. The kind of cold that can kill. The weather was so bad, we couldn't go anywhere (like a hotel that had a backup generator or a family member's home hours away.) So what do you do?? How do you survive when the power goes out? Being prepared just in case, takes a lot of stress out of the situation!

Coffee Table Makeover: Wood Plank Table Top (Ikea Hack)

I hope you had a great weekend!  We spent ours finishing up our coffee table and end tables.  I LOVE the way they turned out and I'm so excited to share them with you today!

We got our coffee table and end tables from Ikea about four years ago.  They were cheap, and they did their job, but the lack/laminate finish was starting to chip and bubble.  I didn't really want to spend a lot of money on new tables, and I had seen some great makeovers where people added wood planks to their tables.  I really liked the way those looked, totally my style.  When Melanie from Making It In The Mitten shared her coffee table makeover, I convinced my husband we should do the same to ours.

PMS Survival Kit

The Crafty Side Of Sarcasm

It’s that lovely time of the month again. It rolls around about the same time every month. If your like me you just want to run & hide, not for your sake but for others. Ya see, around this time every month I turn into [que the music] (DUNNUUNUHH!) a bitch. I know it’s hard to believe but I just can’t help it. My hormones are in an uproar and it seems the only thing that can calm the beast are blueberry muffins & chocolate.

Red Lentil Soup with Chicken and Turnips

I’m so pleased to meet all of you! I was absolutely thrilled when Jen asked me to join the contributor team, and I’m super excited to share all of the scrumptious recipes I have hiding up my sleeve. The first recipe to come out of the old vault: this red lentil soup with chicken and turnips. Don’t be afraid. It’s delicious. I promise.

Peach Quesadillas {Perfect Game Day Appetizers}

Better in Bulk

Whether you’re hosting a big game day party this weekend, heading over to a friend’s house to watch some football, or simply staying at home and laying low, I’ve got the perfect appetizer or snack to share. I had a blast testing out several varieties of peach quesadillas – and by testing, I mean cooking and photographing and then eating a ton.

BLUEBERRY COBBLER

Bunny's Warm Oven

In the midst of snow flying this morning and a zero degree temperature this evening, I needed a reminder that Spring is but a couple of months away.  The glorious flavors of blueberry and lemon can indeed be enjoyed in the winter as a warm blueberry cobbler with creamy melting ice cream.
