Copic Marker Holder

Hello Everyone

Today I needed to create something.
I put together some things I had around the house and decided a new Copic Marker holder would be the project.  It was pretty simple really.  My finished product holds 88 markers.
If you would like to make one below are the photos and a list of items you will need.

Items
cardboard box, size of your choice
paper to cover the box, just choose your favorites in your stash
glue
scissors
plastic grating that is used in lighting, you can purchase a large sheet at hardware for about $12
craft saw with 1/2 blade

Instructions
Cut the paper to fit your box, let it dry for at least one hour so that it will hold together well since you will be handling it a lot when inserting the grating.
Measure and cut the grating to fit inside the box, ie, boxes are not 100% even, so be careful with your measurements.  Grating ends are sharp after you cut them so be careful
Now glue the grating inside the box at your desired level.  I glued mine at 1 1/2 inches from the top
I had to put something heavy on the box to use pressure while the glue dried (I used 2 full peanut butter jars) hey, use what you have :)

That's it.  You have created a beautiful and decorative Copic Marker holder.

Hope you give it a try and have fun in making it.

Best as always,

Angel

Baby Gate woes

Hello Again

Anybody out there got baby gates in use?  I hate these things.  Tonight I took my second baby gate related tumble.  I really hate these things, really.  In  May I managed to fall over one and ended up in the ER with 3 broke ribs, cracked tibia and bruised collar bone and a broken toe. After that incident I replaced all my baby gates with high quality gates because I worried for Jacobs safety.

Well, so much for safety. Tonight I tripped over my high priced baby gate and it came tumbling down on me.  I now have another broken toe and skinned up arm.  So let me say it again, I really hate baby gates.  Motherhood is a really dangerous line of work. I seem to have lost all ability to stand upright since Jacob arrived.  Apparently I just go around falling and seeing if I can survive motherhood, currently the bet on survival is 50/50.

Well, I feel better now that I've gotten that off my chest.  Tune in regularly to see if I win or loose the bet.

Winters back, awe coconuts!

Good Morning Everyone

Welcome in February in my world.  I've waited for snow all season and it waits until the end of February to snow.  I went to the market this morning and within an hour this is what happened.  Ice started falling and soon it was a royal mess.

Below is the view from my porch 2 hours later.  It looks like it's set in for the day.  There is about a foot of snow over the ice at this time.  The woods look beautiful with the ice glistening off the branches.  It truly is a sight to see.  Snow is like anything else in life, it's all in how you view it, beautiful or dreadful, perception is everything.
Oh well, we're home and safe so I say, "let it snow, let it snow".

Last week it was so warm we were all running around in short sleeves and lots of people had shorts on.  Today I think most people won't be running around in shorts, but I could be wrong.

The forecast is calling for a lot of ice tonight, all schools have been cancelled and there are a lot of happy kids in our area.  Last year we had a huge ice storm which crippled the area for 3 days.
That was pretty rough.  I ended up staying at work for all 3 full days before other nurses could get in to relieve us.  We managed well and the fire department kept checking on us to make sure our generators were holding out ok.  It was rough but it was also kind of fun.  We all had to work together and take shift of 4 hours to sleep and then trade off again.  We really got to know each other better and I think we developed a true working relationship in knowing we could depend on one another.  We didn't have cook staff that could get in to work so patients had nurse cooked meals.  It was determined by the patients that we were better at nursing than cooking. Again, all in the perception.

Time for Jacob and I to go play in the snow.

Have an awesome day!

Lacey

Hello again,

Hope everyone is having a good day.  It's been rough here today.  Jacob had to get vaccinations again today.   I really hate those.  I'd forgotten how much you cry when your baby cries.  It's bad when the doctor has to give you both stickers to make you feel better.

We're home now and Jacob is sleeping peacefully, all the tears dried.  He's such a beautiful little boy and I'm not just talking about physical attributes.  He's so kind hearted, he hugs and pats you if he thinks you're sad.  He shares his toys and his food without being asked, he just has a good nature. It breaks my heart when he cries those big ole tears.  I just want to grab him and run for the door and heaven help anyone who gets in my path.  It's that mother/cub scenario, don't mess with my cub.

However now that Jacob is happy and comfortable again I got my new Cuddlebug Cuties digi colored and my card designed.  Anna did a great job with Lacey.  She reminds me of myself and my daughter in her teen years.  I call them my hippie dippy years.   I love color as you can tell from my past cards. You should see my home, we have lots of vibrant colors everywhere.  I'm not afraid of rich wall colors , my bedroom walls are burgundy and beautiful.

Hope you like my Lacey.

Best as always
