I was strolling through my local garden center a few weeks back and saw the most brilliant use of terracotta – outdoor candle planters! I quickly gathered the materials and went straight home to make my own, and I LOVE how it turned out!

That's right, Mr. Frugalista found this tiered Art Deco side table on a local online auction site, which has become a go-to source for furniture. It had already been chalk painted in Duck Egg Blue, distressed, and dark waxed and was selling for a very good price. Sold to the highest bidder!

Say hello to my very first chocolate cheesecake for Cookie Dough and Oven Mitt! This chocolate peanut butter ball cheesecake is epic though. It has Nutter Butters crushed up into cookie balls and placed into the cheesecake before it’s baked. They are firm which I love. They don’t fall apart when you’re cutting the cheesecake or getting a fork full.

with cheese, tomatoes and basil.   I made a few changes from the recipe the video showed and
it came out delicious.  Really easy and my husband is already requesting
this recipe for dinner again

One of the job hazards of being a homesteader in Texas is the heat & humidity you’re subjected to during a typical Texas summer as you go about your daily tasks.  WHEW!  It’s really turned hot out there, but I’m not afforded an air conditioned job behind a desk anymore. (not that I’m complaining!)  I need to be in the garden, on the tractor or maybe at the barn – much of my responsibilities involve me working outside.  Recently a smart friend shared her recipe for making what she called ‘Haymaker Punch’ that she used as her own homemade Gatorade during the summer.  Her recipe used 4 simple ingredients: apple cider vinegar, filtered water, grated ginger and honey.
