CARAMEL APPLE POKE CAKE
Cincy Shopper

Poke cakes make for a super easy and delish dessert. We normally make poke cakes in the summer, our Boston Cream Poke Cake has been a huge hit. Since I had a few cake mixes and apple pie filling on hand, a poke cake was in order. I spotted some easy Pillsbury Caramel frosting at Target while school shopping last week. I knew it would make for a perfect frosting on top of this apple yumminess.

Jack-O-Lantern Orange Fruit Cups
Simplee Thrifty

Halloween is such a fun holiday; I love coming up with all sorts of fun and cute crafts and projects that I can do with or for my kids. And from making milk jug jack-o-lanterns to scattering plastic spiders around to baking Halloween-themed treats, there are plenty of ideas to choose from. I’m pretty sure I could do new cute projects every year and never run out of ideas! This Halloween, I’m making these adorable Jack-O-Lantern Orange Fruit Cups.

How Much Salad Should You Eat To Lose Weight?
Urban Naturale

My friends and family often make comments about how large my salads are.
I just smile and say “Salads are good for you” and keep on chewing!
Flavorful, crunchy, multi-textured salads are probably my favorite food.
I eat them every day.

BLOGGING BUSINESS PLAN PART 2: ROADMAP
Laina Turner - Author

You read my post about figuring out your blogging goals last week so now it’s time to start putting them into a plan.

TOMATO, LEEK, AND GOAT CHEESE TART
MY FLAGSTAFF HOME

This delicious recipe is adapted from one in a Martha Stewart magazine (no longer in publication) called Everyday Food.

DIY Succulent Planters
My Big Fat Happy Life

I have been wanting to place a plant in my kitchen windowsill for awhile but needed something that was strong enough to withstand my not so green green-thumb.  I decided to use succulents if I can keep them alive outside I should be able to keep them alive inside, right?

Prickly Pear Jelly
Hill House Homestead

Prickly Pear tunas are turning ripe this time of year. Tuna are the fruit of the prickly pear cacti that ripen after it flowers. Prickly Pear Jelly has a unique flavor I wouldn't begin to know how to describe, but it's good. My neighbor has a nice crop of tunas this year and I decided to try my hand at making jelly. I searched the web for recipes and tips then got started.

Welcome to the August 2015 Carnival of Natural Parenting: Life Learners
Life Breath Present

This post was written for inclusion in the monthly Carnival of Natural Parenting hosted by Code Name: Mama and Hobo Mama. This month our participants have talked about how they continue learning throughout life and inspire their children to do the same.

Garden Bench For Two {All About Second Chances Chalky Finish Contest}
The Interior Frugalista

Oh my you guys, I had one of those should've read the instructions first moments.

Sitting under a tarp in my back yard was a sweet headboard and footboard that we picked up for a song last year at a thrift store.

The Multiple Uses Of Huggies Wipes - They Aren't Just For Babies, You Know!
Ducks 'n a Row

Moms, how many times have you re-purposed something? All of us do. We are constantly reinventing things to make them work for our homes. Well, Huggies Wipes at Walmart are new and improved with TripleClean™ technology that no others have. They are now thicker, too, which makes them SUPER repurposable. (Is that a word?)  So, anytime can be a good time for wipe BECAUSE KIDS OUTGROW DIAPERS, NOT MESSES.*

Easy Lemon Cupcake Recipe
You Brew My Tea

I love dessert and this Easy Lemon Cupcake Recipe is a perfect way to enjoy a sweet treat that is bright, light and delightful!  For me, lemon cake or cupcakes always remind me of my grandpa. He loved a lemon bundt cake, and in his last year of life I often made them for him since he had little appetite for any regular food.  My friend Amber made these light and delicious cupcakes for me and I knew I had to share them with you.

A Different Kind of Coconut Oil
Storybook  Apothecary

Cocovit Coconut Oil is not your average run-of-the-mill coconut oil. Created as a way to help anyone who wants an all-in-one beauty and health solution to their problems, Cocovit is the most raw and pure coconut oil you’ll find anywhere. Cocovit owns the coconut farm in South India where they employ 30+ locals to help harvest the organic coconuts. All coconuts are fresh, hand-picked, and a special extraction process is then employed. The extraction process does not use heat, bleaches, solvents or deodorizers like many common coconut oils might employ. Instead, their extraction method allows the coconut oil to retain it’s raw freshness state and doesn’t destroy any of the valuable enzymes and nutrients which make coconut oil so beneficial for us in the first place. It also helps retain a higher concentration of lauric acid, a naturally occurring ingredient which does wonders for hair, skin and nails.

Breakfast B.L.T.
Life With Lorelai

Doesn’t that look DELICIOUS? You have no idea how good it was with our homegrown tomatoes! This sandwich came about as a mash-up of mine and Luke’s ideas for Sunday breakfast. I had a can of Trader Joe’s Buttermilk Biscuits (which I love) that I had planned on fixing with some eggs and such. But, we had so many tomatoes from the garden that Luke thought maybe it would be nice to have a BLT for breakfast…it was after 10:30…

Our goat saga
Homesteading Quest

Not really a Saga I suppose. But a somewhat sad story, with an ending that could have turned out much worse.

We have 4 goats. Three Nigerian Dwarves and 1 Spanish Boer. The Boer is a show goat my daughter *was* going to show at this year's fair.
