Turn It Up Tuesday @ Sew Crafty Angel
Welcome to the 27th week of Turn It Up Tuesday! Can you believe that Turn It Up Tuesday is already 6 months old??!! It just makes me so happy to see how Turn It Up Tuesday has grown in such a short time.
Picnicin' Sourdough Pound Cake
We had a warm day and the kids wanted to picnic outside and we had to have a dessert treat.
All my family loves sourdough cake so we whipped this little goodie up.
Ingredients
3 cups cake flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup unsalted butter
3 cups white sugar
6 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup sour cream
1 cup confectioners' sugar
3 tablespoons orange juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F
Grease and flour a 10 inch Bundt pan.
Sift together flour, salt, and baking soda into a medium bowl; set aside.
In a large bowl, cream butter and white sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla. Add flour mixture alternately with sour cream. Pour batter in prepared pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 75 to 90 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 20 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.
To prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, combine confectioners' sugar, orange juice and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Drizzle over cake while still warm.
Now, just enjoy a big slice!

Springtime Feeling
I am so longing for spring. I miss the beauty of all the birds singing in the trees
and the sweet smell of flowers as the breeze lightly sings through the air.
Since I can't find that springtime outside yet, I decided to create a little
springtime feeling for myself.
I found this lovely biscuit container and decided it wanted to come home with me.
Baked up some blueberry muffins and brewed a hot cup of coffee in my blue floral
cup and used my imagination to hear the birds sing.
Then my oldest brought me home a bouquet of daisies
(everyone knows how I'm longing for spring).
I thought my beautiful daisies would look great decked out
in an adorable pink mason jar.
My daughter and I decided to have a little tea party in the yard.
We found a piece of daisy fabric for a tablecloth and set the table with
our blue pieces and instant springtime tea party.
Oh, I almost forgot, we had to make some chocolate
dipped cannolis'. Can't you just taste them, ummmmm.
I found these awesome floral gardening pieces at Target and fell in love with them.
(Now all I need is something to garden)
Happy Spring Wishes to You
