This weeks
Featured Bloggers

This year I'm trying to find ways to make novelty gifts for Christmas that are both eco and budget friendly, as part of my Christmas Shouldn't cost the Earth series.

This week I've made this super simple toilet paper dispenser that I've had 'pinned' for a long time after finding them for sale on ebay.

Halloween Treat: Witch’s Brooms

Bargain Briana

When it comes to Halloween treats, some of us are more creative than others. But even if you are a proud member of the Creatively Challenged Club, it’s okay. Today’s Halloween treats are SO simple that anyone could make them. But don’t worry, even though these adorable Witch’s Brooms are super easy, they are still super cute and super yummy as well!

PLUM AND NECTARINE TART
Annie's  Noms

This Plum and Nectarine Tart may look fancy, but it’s SO easy to make! Especially with my fool proof pie crust! A crunchy base and soft, tender fruit that explodes with flavour, makes this tart a must bake this Autumn!

"Strawberry Blonde" Sunflower - Part #1: Loved By Insects
God's Growing Garden

This is my favorite variety out of the four sunflower varieties that I grew this season.  That is why I have split the pictures up into two groups - today is all about insects.  Bees, moths & butterflies - they all love this sunflower.

HAMBURGER SOUP
The Bewitchin' Kitchen

Hamburger Soup recipe. A classic comfort food that's easy and cheap to make.

Hamburger soup has always been a favorite soup of mine, mostly because it’s so simple. Each time I make it the recipe changes a little bit, usually because I like to use up whatever I can that’s sitting in my fridge.

Easy Pumpkin Cheeseball
Crafts a la Mode

I saw a this darling pumpkin cheeseball over at Family Fresh Meals and decided I really had to make this for a family gathering (it was a BIG HIT - how did you do that?). This is a variation on a cheeseball that I have been making for years with softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese. The orange color? It comes from crushed up Doritos.

10 Fast Family Dinners: Home-Cooked in 20 Minutes or Less
Kids Activities Blog

Making dinner doesn’t have to be so hard. With four small kids of my own (seriously, the oldest one is five), who insist on eating dinner every single night, I’ve armed myself with a few fast dinner recipes that will always be done just around the time that 22-minute Clifford video starts rolling credits. Here are a few of our favorites.

Cowboy Casserole
Thrifty T's Treasures

Cowboy Casserole – the name makes you feel like you’re sitting by the chuck wagon doesn’t it?

I had to adapt the original recipe a bit because when I started cooking I realized that I didn’t have all of the ingredients. That’s the great thing about creating in the kitchen – you can make it work with the items you have on-hand. The end result was that it turned out great!

Savory Pumpkin Hummus
STRENGTH AND SUNSHINE

From dipping to scooping, spreading to mixing in, hummus is one versatile food. This gluten-free and vegan savory pumpkin hummus is the perfect flavor for all you fall snacking, cooking, and tailgating!

PUMPKIN APPLE SUGAR DOUGHNUTS
Reasons To Skip The Housework

These Pumpkin Apple Sugar Doughnuts are baked, not fried and jam packed with pumpkin and freshly grated apple. Rolled in cinnamon sugar to finish them off, these are simply sublime!

Beautiful Solitude of Black Mountain Lookout....
West Coast Adventure

When trying to relax, a little isolation time is key. Get ready to unplug all distractions and escape to the solitude of black mountain lookout. There are some places on Earth where time stands still and this is one of them. This lookout was constructed in 1934 and served as a fire lookout tower. A fire lookout tower provided housing for the individual who used to watch for wildfires in the wilderness. Most of the time fire lookout towers were located at very high points or on the summit of a mountain.
