RUSTOLEUM CHALKED SPRAY PAINT
QUICK-OVERS & AN UPDATE
Deanie’s Stash

Welcome back to my blog. Today I am showing you some more quick-overs using the Rustoleum Chalked Spray Paint. You read here that I made over a few items after discovering this wonderful spray paint.  Today I am here to tell you an update on that post. Previously I had tried wax and some topcoats that I had laying around and was only partially satisfied. The results were okay but not fabulous. Today I want to tell you that I found the perfect protective topcoat for this paint.

How to Create a Succulent Planted Pumpkin
Cottage in the Oaks

In my last post I shared our fall centerpiece for this year, which include a pumpkin planted with a succulent or two. Today I thought I’d share how I did that. It’s a lovely arrangement, so easy, and a wonderful gift idea, too.

It’s Been A Long Time Since I’ve Seen A Fall
H2O Bungalow

Hey guys!  I’m leaving the beach behind for a while and spending some time up north.  Just like a kid in a candy store, I’m loving the sights, scents and pretty much everything about being here.  There’s nothing quite as good as going home.  To me, the closer I get to family and familiar places, the happier I begin to feel.  I love the feeling of “I’m going home”.

Feathered Chalkboard Pumpkin Topiary
The Kim Six Fix

It wouldn't be halloween if I didn't create at least a few dollar store pumpkin makeovers, and this year is no exception.   Once I again I swung down to the dollar store, picked up some styrofoam pumpkins and masked the day-glo orange color with a fun redesign.

Pecan Toffee Cinnamon Monkey Bread with Icing
The It Mom by Daisy Teh

Got it! The amazingly yummy Pecan Toffee Cinnamon Monkey Bread with Icing recipe has been curated, tried, and tested and is exactly what you need in your life for your upcoming special event or to serve up with your family. I remember when I was first introduced to Monkey Bread during a Christmas party and thought it was the most amazing recipe invented. It’s so delicious and sweet! It’s a cross between a cinnamon roll and bread. But don’t take my word for it – make it yourself, try it for yourself and then you’ll thank me later!

PUMPKIN BUNDT CAKE WITH CINNAMON CREAM CHEESE GLAZE
Annie's Noms

My Pumpkin Bundt Cake is soft, sweet and spicy. Filled with a whole can of pumpkin and topped with a creamy cinnamon cream cheese glaze, it’s sublime!

PUMPKIN CENTERPIECE TAKES A SPIN
Petticoat Junktion

I’m behind the power curve again. Halloween and Fall decorating projects began showing up on the home décor blogs about a month ago. And this past weekend the weather was just awesome….

…….cooler temperatures and gusty breezes with leave

Fried Apples with Apple Caramel Sauce
Cravings of a Lunatic

Great recipe for Fried Apples with Apple Caramel Sauce! My family actually liked this dessert more than apple pie. Which is saying something since we are huge pie lovers in our household. This dessert is beyond amazing!

Consider Caffeine’s Amazing Powers
SILVER FOODIE

Recently I’ve been pleasantly surprised to learn some powerful positive facts about caffeine that are listed in the chart below. It’s great that caffeine has some health benefits in addition to being so desirable to many people!

October 31st
Muchmore Creative

I can hardly believe it is October.  I love decorating for Halloween and just can't seem to resist making something new each year!

CARAMEL SAUCE RECIPE
Mommy on Demand

This time of year all I want to do is eat and bake and then eat some more.   It’s also the perfect time for apples, and when I think of apples I like to think of a caramel apple.    Well lately I have been craving a good caramel apple.  Of course I don’t really know where to get a good caramel apple here in the city with out paying an arm and leg for it.  So most of the time I just get those yummy Kraft caramel squares and melt them and endulge in the yumminess.  Well not this time, this time around I decided to bust out my family recipe for caramel dipping sauce.

Yarn Ghost Garland
This Mama Loves

This no-sew yarn Halloween craft idea is a great one for everyone in the house. It’s Kid Friendly (with supervision) and inexpensive. BUT, it’s also something else…it’s one of the Halloween decorations you can make with your kids that don’t attract pests. This DIY Yarn Ghost Garland craft and Halloween decorating tips brought to you by Orkin. A bonus of this craft is that it takes up almost no space in your storage bins, and is super lightweight. Instead of using vines and fall berries to make a festive Halloween garland, try making some easy yarn ghosts instead, and keep the pests outside, where they belong! Trees, wreaths and garlands – can all bring in cockroaches, carpenter ants, aphids and mealybugs.

DIY CANDY CORN HALLOWEEN WATER BEADS VASES
Hydrangea Hippo

Everybody is using water beads this year to make crafts and DIY projects. Have you seen the fun YouTube videos?! Water beads are super easy to use and are perfect for holiday decor, like Halloween. This Halloween season, it seems like candy corn is big trend so I decided to make a trio of candy corn inspired vases using water beads from Gemnique. With water beads, you can make any pattern or color combination you like and when the holiday season is over, you can dry the beads to store them for later. Now that’s a smart DIY!

Spiderweb Caramel Apple
My Love for Words

A couple weeks ago I indulged in making my favorite fall treat, caramel apples. I made a bunch of different types, and this was the Halloween inspired apple I shared at Smart School House, accompanied by a cute printable, of course.

CANDY CORN OREO RECIPE
Mom's Favorite Stuff

Are you looking for some delicious Halloween treats this season? With Halloween coming up next month, the stores are starting to stock some food flavors and colors that are perfect for the holiday. These Candy Corn Oreos are perfect for any Halloween party and are quick and easy to make. In the directions, I’ve included affiliate links to Amazon where you can purchase the items that you need (although they are also sold elsewhere).
